SSD Gideon Will Throw the First Pitch

We all know that service dogs can be trained to do some pretty amazing tasks, but can they be trained to play baseball? SSD Gideon says yes!

On June 6, Gideon will “throw” the first pitch at the Harrisburg Senators baseball game on City Island. Ever since he found out that he was going to take the field, he has been practicing so he gets the pitch just right. What do you think? Does he look ready?

SSD Gideon holds the baseball as he practices to throw the first pitch.

Susquehanna Service Dogs will be the community organization of the night at the June 6 game. Gideon will be joined by several other SSD dogs. While you might not be able to get Gideon’s autograph, you will be able to meet him and the other SSD dogs. Stop by our table and say hello!

Are you coming to the game? Tickets are available online.
